Travel season is finally upon us with spring break on the horizon and summer following close behind. If you love craft beer (or just beer in general) and you are looking for a new way to spend those long-awaited days off, a craft beer festival may be the perfect travel destination. Thousands of beer enthusiasts will flock to various locations around the nation to sip, sample, and indulge in the finest craft beers and ciders the nation has to offer.

NYC Craft Beer Festival

April 5 & 6, 2019

The New York City Craft Beer Festival, held twice a year for the spring and fall craft beer seasons, kicks off the warmer months with a two-day festival held in early spring. Now in its eighth year, the NYC Craft Beer Festival will host 75 different breweries who will offer up over 150 different types of seasonal craft brews for tasting. The festival will boast three different tasting sessions during the weekend. Tickets for the event start at $45.00 and give the ticket holder entrance to one unlimited taste testing session for at least two and a half hours. Do not forget that food is not included with the price of admission, but you will walk away with a cool souvenir tasting glass.

Surf ‘n’ Suds Beer Festival

As April showers give way to May flowers, travel to California’s warm, sunny shores and attend theSurf ‘n’ Suds Beer Festival being held for its seventh year in Ventura, CA. Host to over 60 different craft breweries the Surf ‘n’ Suds Beer Festival will offer not just beer but also wine and cider. Live music, vendors, food trucks, surfboard shapers, and more will all be available to you as you indulge in over 200 samples of the finest craft beverages California has to offer. A general admission ticket starts at $50.00. The festival also has a VIP bundle ticket that allows access to both the May 18thevent in Ventura and the August 10th beer festival held in Carpinteria, CA.

Oregon Brewers Festival

July 24 through July 27, 2019
Portland, OR

One of the oldest beer festivals in the nation, the Oregon Brewers Festival will be celebrating its 32nd year of bringing beer fans together with the finest craft beers in the nation. New for 2019, they will be featuring 100% Oregon craft beers and ciders from eight cider houses and 93 breweries with over 80 of the Oregonian brews being new releases that are debuting at the festival. The event does not sell tickets and offers free admission. In order to join in on the taste testing fun patrons of the festival will purchase a $20 tasting package that includes a commemorative mug and 10 tasting tokens. Think you will try more than ten beers? Just purchase additional tasting tokens as you need them for $1 each.

Great American Beer Festival

October 3 through October 5, 2019
Denver, CO

Great American Beer Festival


Founded in 1982 and touted as the premier beer festival in the nation, the Great American Beer Festival is centrally located to many locations around the country in beautiful Denver, CO. Offering 4,000 unique brews from over 800 different breweries you will never run out of options to explore during the three-day festival. A tasting cup, map to the festival’s breweries, attendance to educational talks and unlimited one-ounce samples of beer are included with the $85 admission ticket.

While we picked out four of the biggest, and in some cases oldest, craft beer festivals the country has to offer there are hundreds of beer festivals being held across the country all year round.
